Acting Bio

Maggie Surovell has performed Off-Broadway in her one woman show WARNING SIGNS at Cherry Lane Theatre's Cherry Pit Late Nite, at The Public in Susan Lori Parks 365/365 Festival and in the Choir in Young Jean Lee's CHURCH at The Public's Under The Radar. She has performed Off-Off Broadway in Les Freres Corbusier's HELL HOUSE at Saint Anne's Warehouse (which was nominated for a Drama Desk award), in SURRENDER at The Ohio Theatre with The International WOW Theatre Company, and at P.S. 122 with Young Jean Lee's Theatre Company. She performed in POETICS with Nature Theatre of Oklahoma at the SoHo Repertory's Benefit Party, and in I KREON with Roust/New Moon Repertory at SoHo Repertory . Maggie is a company member and vocal coach with Bone Orchard and she holds and MFA in acting from the University of Georgia.

Maggie Surovell has dialect and voice coached shows Off-Broadway such as: SHLOMO THE MUSICAL at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Daisy Foote's BHUTAN at Cherry Lane Theatre, BECOMING ADELE at The Clurman Theatre, the premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's SOUTHERN PROMISES at P.S. 122, the premiere of Anton Dudley's DAVY AND STU at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, the screaming in Les Freres Corbusier's HELL HOUSE at Saint Anne's Warehouse, and the premiere of EVENSONG at TBG Arts Center. Regionally, she has coached Daisy Foote's BHUTAN and Keith Huff's A STEADY RAIN at New York Stage and Film, the premiere of Donald Margulies' SHIPWRECKED at Long Wharf Theatre, THE ROVER at Fordham University, and multiple shows at Rutgers University. Maggie has taught voice and speech in the graduate program at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Yale School of Drama Summer Program, Sarah Lawrence College, Wagner College and University of Georgia. She currently teaches voice and speech at New York School of Film and Television and is a Certified Fitzmaurice voice teacher with her MFA in Acting from the University of Georgia and a BA in Theatre from Temple University.
